The village

Etray, is a small village counting
170 inhabitants and is located 720 m
high on a green plateau in “le Haut Doubs”
area in the Jura mountains.
If you come by car, it is about 30 minutes driving from Besançon the regional chief town in the west and about 20 minutes from Pontarlier and 30 minutes far from Morteau if you come from the east (and only 2 hours 30 minutes from Paris if you take a high-speed train TGV and stop in Besançon).

admire the beauty of nature walking on the numerous footpaths around, discover magnificent landscapes and sites, practice many various sports (such as horse-riding, potholing, climbing, mountain-biking, canoeing and kayaking).

savor typical and regional gastronomic specialties : vin jaune : a seven-year-old dry white wine, cold meat smoked in “tuyé”
the traditional farm chimney to smoke meat,
Mont d’Or, Comté and cancoillotte which
are very typical regional cheeses and wild trouts from the river Loue.
